Research--
from Latin word “velum”:
a cloth, covering, curtain, veil.

The project investigates the possibility to reverse the perception of the ancient Roman Amphitheatre of Cagliari: a building conceived to look at something becomes something to look at.

The original elliptical perimeter is redefined by 515 pillars supporting a veil, a large catenary shaped roof that protects the amphitheatre and relates with it in various ways: almost touching it or establishing a distance of several meters.
